Description: The GOS (Geospatial One Stop) gadget is a custom built gadget designed for the Microsoft Widows Vista sidebar and Windows 7 gadgets. It retrieves GeoRSS data based on a user defined set of search parameters. The results are displayed 4 at a time in a list, above a reference map.
The Microsoft Bing Map (Virtual Earth) displays the bounding boxes of the 4 current GeoRSS items as colored coded rectangles. The resulting data can be further inspected in a flyout window along with the “Status Checker” based service status and score. Some content provided by the GOS Portal can be viewed directly either with ESRI ArcExplorer, ArcGlobe, or Gaia.
